This week was packed with so many fall activities. We also had a silly and spooky Halloween party!
Let's take a closer look at the activities this week:
Math: Counting Kernels Using 10-Groups
We had a lot of kernels left over from plucking them off of the corn cobs that Mrs. Dinelli brought us. The kids scooped out a cupful from their sensory bins and got to work! The kids first estimated how many they thought were in their cup. Then they sorted into 10-groups and practiced counting by tens. This activity was fun but also challenging! We are going to do this activity a few more times, continuing to count by tens, but also learn how to count by 5's.
Math: Costume Graphing
This week we introduced graphing and tallying. We answered questions by analyzing the data!
STEM: Gummy Pumpkin Candies & Toothpicks
What can you build using gummy pumpkin candies and toothpicks?
Tissue Paper Pumpkins
These tissue paper pumpkins really do make a statement!
Ghost Rockets
The K-Kids love Halloween and they love science! We combined the two and made Flying Ghost Rockets! The results were just too fun!
Fizzy Colors
The kids fully enjoy this go-to science experiment. Its so much fun to watch the basking soda sizzle and bubble as the vinegar/water color mix combine! The kids used droppers to squirt the liquid mix on the baking soda.
PE: Spooky Scavenger Hunt
This week Coach surprised the kids with a spooky scavenger hunt! Coach Long hid 100 spider rings all around the playground and the kids had fun running all over looking for the prizes!
Who Am I?
The kids had so much fun playing virtual "Who Am I" with our off-campus learner! The kids came up with their own clues and our off-campus learner tried to guess their costume!
Art Class: Patterns
The children created their own patterns and painted with water colors.
Halloween Party Movie: Curious George BOOFEST
We ended the week with a great movie! The kids enjoyed popcorn and some special treats. It was a great way to end our silly and spooky week!
