Another busy week in the books!

STEM: Racecar Ramp

This week the kids created a simple ramp out of cardstock and unifix cubes. They used these materials to create a track, experimenting with different heights and lengths. They tested their ramps with toy racecars, measuring the distance that the racecar travels.

Journals

The kindergarten kids have been working hard on their writing! Focusing on correct letter formation, using proper upper/lowercase letters, correct punctuation, writing sight words, using finger spaces between words, and making sure their picture matches their response.

Math:

In math we are continuing to practice addition and subtraction by drawing a picture to solve. We also worked on graphing.

Art:

This week the children were introduced to artist Vincent Van Gogh. Vincent Van Gogh is one of the most successful painters in history. He had a very unique style that consisted of broken up paint strokes. The kindergarten artists used the Van Gogh style for inspiration and created masterpieces of their own using crayons and watercolor paint.

PE:

This weeks gross motor games included: Builders & Breakers, Messy Backyard, Red Light/Green Light, The Floor is Lava, Hungry Hungry Hippos, and various noodle challenges!
